Eurovision in NY May 24

I am in New York the week of the Eurovision song contest. In which bar/club/gutter do you think I might be able to see it? I would prefer the BBC coverage, but beggars can%26#39;t be choosers.

Those unfamiliar with the finest example of European culture since the Parthenon (the temple on the hill, not the kebab shop) should visit the official website here

Ah, Eurovision... Some of the best parties I%26#39;ve been to are Eurovision celebrations.

I%26#39;ve had a look at BBC America and it isn%26#39;t listed in its TV schedule. I also searched tvguide.com but can%26#39;t find it.

I believe it streams live on various websites, so imagine some bars will have it. I%26#39;d suggest looking into British pubs like the Red Lion in the Village.

I%26#39;d call Tea and Sympathy. I bet they%26#39;re on top of the situation.

Orange

I hope this request is just that you are an Andy Abrahams fan. Look Nil points will hurt the same in New York, Birmingham or Belgrade. I think you are better off avoiding it.

Tea and Sympathy Oui, Eurovision Non

No-one can say us Brits don%26#39;t do humour....

Come on...the Eurovision song contest is not that great :-D OK, maybe I%26#39;m just saying that as Norway has not had a great success in the last couple of year *hehe* Hope that you find a spot where you can watch it. How long will you be staying in NYC?

Well that must make us Swedes Athena because we love it too death, there are SIX different contests before the Swedish contestant is chosen, its all people and the papers talk and write about during February and most of March every damn year.

Its just too much please oh please save me.....

Sorry about the ranting.

Orange I hope you find a place to watch it. I will not put my eyes and ears through that ordeal.

Gosh I find that so interesting. I visited Stockholm last summer (only one day) and I was so interested in the way the city looked so intellectual. I really was impressed. I would never have expected it.

I will try and catch it this year and look at the Swedish entry through different eyes.

In UK it is a very love-hate relationship and the commentator is very tongue in cheek, because the voting system works against the older countries where it is harder to get current bands to enter because it works against their careers in the long-run.

Oops That is off topic I think, I shall stop now.

Thank you everyone for your help. I am Australian originally, but my NY husband and I discovered Eurovision after we moved to the UK. We are desperate to take some of his NY family to a Eurovision night, because they refuse to believe such a car crash could actually exist.

Portugal never won the Eurovision Song Contest. That%26#39;s one of our biggest national frustrations.

ohhhhhh now I get it. Do you remember the year that Lordi won - Wow, scary.
