I%26#39;ve booked a table at Gordon Ramsey @ The London NYC for dinner when we%26#39;re in NY. It looks nice and i quite fancy the tasting menu but i%26#39;m now thinking maybe i should go to Buddakan instead as it would maybe be more of an %26#39;experience%26#39; and more %26#39;New York%26#39; since i could visit a GR restaurant in London too.
Decisions! Could you tell me how much a meal for two would be in Buddakan, on average of course.
Thanks a lot in advance! I%26#39;d like to go to both but i have other restaurants booked for each night and only this one night left free.
Buddakan or Gordon Ramsey?
Well, I%26#39;m not sure how ';New York'; Buddakan is--it%26#39;s a branch of a restaurant started in Philadelphia.
You can see the menu, with prices (might be slightly out of date), here:
www.menupages.com/restaurantdetails.asp鈥?/a>
If you want something more reflective of the current state of New York restaurants, I would try Eleven Madison Park, Dovetail, Esca, or (more casual) Momofuku Ssam Bar.
Buddakan or Gordon Ramsey?
Know you%26#39;ll be in NYC...and therefore should be doing NYC things, but there is an exception to everything. Go to Ramsays (we have and it was worth the experience), difficult to advise on whether value for money, but we ';pushed the boat out';, and everybodys idea of expensive is different. When you go back to Scotland and mention you dined at Buddakan...me thinks you%26#39;ll get some blank looks, whereas Gordon Ramsay%26#39;s, everybody here will get an instant feel for your experience. Also dont forget with the 拢 still strong you%26#39;ll pay nearly half the price than if you did it in the UK. No disrespect by the way to ';Buddakans';.
