Central Park Boats

Hi,

I am planning to take a rowing boat trip in Central Park, but have a few questions which you can hopefully assist me with.

Firstly, is there much of a queue to get these boats? I intend to get one on a weekday about midday.

Secondly, are they easy to row on your own?

Thirdly, whats the liklihood of getting wet? I want to take a camera on my boat, but am worried about it getting wet.

Thanks very much everyone.

Central Park Boats

1. Not much of a line during the week.

2. Yes.

3. Not very likely, unless you fall in.

Central Park Boats

1. Probably not too much of a line on a weekday.

2. No problem if you know how to row a boat.

3. Same answer as 3.

Great question Johnny Boy... my boyf and I plan to rent one when we are over there in a few weeks. So excited :)

This is a majorly funny post :-)

I%26#39;m actually laughing out loud here. Sorry Johnny :-)

2) depends on you - after watching too many episodes of The Amazing Race and Survivor, I know its a skill some people cant acquire!

3) I wouldnt take the chance if you dont know how to row.... Its probably fine in your daypack or bag unless the whole thing drops in... You can get a dry bag at a place like Paragon or Eastern Mountain Sports. I%26#39;m not talking about an expensive underwater housing, just a $14 waterproof bag that rolls up and snaps closed to make it watertight. Then again, I%26#39;m overly careful with my SLR....
