Can those who know around NY help me finalise our itinerary for the trip? I have done some research and have found the distance for some of the attractions through mapquest from our hotel. Now there are a few I couldn鈥檛 find and was wondering if anyone can help fill these up.
Basically: we have entire Monday plan on starting the day by 8am and Tuesday until around 4pm to do these things and then we鈥檙e heading off to Atlantic city. How should we go about the attractions so we don鈥檛 go back and forth? Our plan is to see each attraction that falls on our way, and then when we鈥檙e done use the cab or bus to get back to our hotel. Am I making any sense?

PLEASE help with itinerary for our trip to NY
You could start your day at Central Park and then take 5th avenue at the south entrance to the park and walk down to times square and then do the Empire State Building. Then, you could have lunch and go visit Grand Central Station, and then go back to the hotel.
I would do the Brooklyn Bridge, Ground Zero and the Statue of Liberty together since they are all downtown.
PLEASE help with itinerary for our trip to NY
Thanks....any idea what the cab fare might be from our furthest point back to the hotel?
Oh, depending on time of day, I can%26#39;t see it being more than 20$ for two people and no luggage coming back to midtown from ground zero or so.
Actually it%26#39;s 3 adults and 2 kids. Do cabs charge by number of people in it? Also how easy is it to find a minivan cab? Thanks in advance
You could start up north, but I can tell you that you won%26#39;t get to the see the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island and something else in one day. I%26#39;m a native NYer and my niece came to visit in April. At 9 AM on a weekday morning there were at least 300 people on line, and it took 1 1/2 hours to get through the line because of security. Minimum time for the tour: 4 hours. If your children are young, or if you have no connection to Ellis Island, skip that tour boat. Get on the Staten Island Ferry for free and get the best view of the skyline and the statue. RT is about an hour. (Nothing to see on SI) You can%26#39;t get into the Statue of Liberty; you can only get on the island and onto the base of the statue. Also, skip Madison Park. It%26#39;s one big dog run. If you must do this tour, I would only add the Brooklyn Bridge afterward. You%26#39;ll be exhausted.
Do Central Park and the Empire State on the same day. Get on line for Empire State at 8-8:30 and maybe you%26#39;ll get up there by 10:30 or 11. The park will be a welcome break after that, as will the zoo. Don%26#39;t miss the Delacorte Clock in the Park; it will charm the kids.
The cab won%26#39;t charge extra but to get a minivan or SUV cab you just have to wait until one drives by. If you%26#39;re at a taxi stand (such as outside of ESB or G.C. station) they can hail one for you.
Have fun!
Thanks all for such helpful advice!
Our plan is to start one day with the Empire state bulding and the other with Statue of Liberty since they seems to be really popular. What time early in the morning will be best to arrive there by? 7am? Is that too early? We plan on starting our days bright and early, so hoping we can beat all the line ups.
