Hello
After reading many posts I have noticed that prices for hotel rooms can vary enormously depending on what website you use to book your accommodation.
I am looking to book the Affinia 50 and was wondering if anyone could suggest some of the best hotel booking websites around?
Thanks for your time
Affinia 50 - where to get the best deals?
I%26#39;d start with the hotel website
affinia.com
since they have some weekly rates. Then compare to
hotels.com
ortitz.com
quikbook.com
While I love the Affinia 50, the Affinia Dumont has 1 bedroom suites with 2 queen beds and a queen sofabed (while Affinia 50 only has 2 double beds in bedroom). The Eastgate, while not nearly as nice has large 2 bedroom 2 bath suites.
Affinia 50 - where to get the best deals?
The Affinia 50 also has 1-bedroom suites with a sofabed in the living room area. I%26#39;ve found that most 3rd party bookers, i.e. Quikbook, don%26#39;t have large discounts on Affinia hotels. Most of their prices are the same or only slightly below the Affinia website.
NYWHIZ, there are now 8 people in my party from so we are going to stay in a hostel until 29/12.
From 29/12 we are going to move to Affinia for 5 nights and get 2 one bedroom suites - 4 people per room. All up it will cost about $65 a night for the ten nights. Not bad.
Thanks for your help.
NYCforMe, sorry, I was making the distinction b/w double and queen beds but it did sound like I was suggesting there are no sofabeds at the Aff. 50 which is not correct.
toffa, I remember you said your last experience with a hostel in NYC was not good. Just make sure you pick one with good reviews here and on one of the hostel websites.
I didn%26#39;t know hostels were reviewed here.
Last time I was in NY I stayed at the Big Apple Hostel. Very basic accommodation but only a block from Times Square which is perfect for tourists. The subway was easily accessible too. I think I will probably go for this hostel again unless you are aware of any outstanding ones?
It depends on whether you%26#39;re going for private rooms or dorm room beds. With a party of 8, you could probably fill a dorm room some place. Hostelling International on the upper west side is considered one of the best (for dorm rooms) in NYC.

The Westside YMCA is also considered good, with the top floors more recently renovated. When you stay there, you get access to the health club facilities including an indoor pool.
Then there are some places downtown like East Village Bed and Coffee and Second Home on Second that would be in a more interesting, funky neighborhood. Chelsea Lodge is another option. I think since you%26#39;ll be staying in midtown at the Affinia and you%26#39;ve already staying in TS, you should try a different area.
All brilliant suggestions but everything is booked out. What a shame!
:(
Are you sure? Sometimes reservation bookings online only take reservations 6 months in advance. It%26#39;s not yet 6 months from Dec. I would email or phone any you %26#39;re serious about.
Wow, gee, no more talk of apartment rentals.
I wonder why ????
