Hi all first time posting. My husband and I are celebrating our 25th anniversary in NYC, my question is; we will be flying into JFK on July 8th early afternoon (in a perfect world with no flight delays) we have tickets to Wicked that night at 7:00 p.m. Should I try to make dinner reservations before the show or after? Or should I not worry about reservations and just see how the day progresses. Thanks in advance for any and all suggestions.
Dinner before or after show
Welcome to the forum!
How early is ';early afternoon';? I probably wouldn%26#39;t book something before the show. Between the possibility of delays and the time it takes to get your luggage, get to your hotel, check in, etc., you might not want the pressure of making it to a restaurant at a specific time.
Here%26#39;s a page on Theater District dining from the FAQ for some ideas:

Dinner before or after show
It depends on what time you%26#39;re used to eating. You%26#39;d have to eat at 5 to be at the show on time. If that%26#39;s a time you%26#39;d prefer to eat (the show is long so you won%26#39;t get out until 10 or so) plan to eat before. You can make a reservation and cancel it if you%26#39;re running late or decide to just grab a light bite on the run (maybe some appetizers with drinks at a nice bar) and have some dessert after.
2:00 p.m. is the estimated arrival time, I think maybe a light bite before, might be the ticket. We are so excited about this trip, we have never done anything like this before. We%26#39;ve been so busy with work and kids etc. and now both kids are off on their own adventures, so we decided it is our turn. Thanks for your kind suggestions.
Depends on food response. If you get sleepy after dining, have a light salad before the show and protein/carbs afterward. If none of this matters to you, eat when is right for you and enjoy the show!
