Quick Itinerary Review

We leave tomorrow and don%26#39;t think we have overbooked ourselves. Please comment on anything thoughts regarding our plans - TIA!

Travelers: Mom/Dad (42), DS (10), DD (9)

Depart Thursday 3 pm, into LGA at 10:15. Cab to The Belvedere. Check-in and quick walk to TS because the kids have never been and it%26#39;s amazing at night the first time.

Friday - 10 am ';Reserve'; tickets for SOL at 10 am. Plan to leave hotel about 8, take subway down and hope to get on ferry early enough to be at SOL by 10. Do have to go to the ';will call'; window thanks (not) the statuecruises website mishap.

We might do Ellis Island, might not - see how kids are faring. Will end Friday w/stop at WTC on the way back (and a quick run into Century 21 just because we%26#39;re there and I insist) and a late afternoon lunch in Chinatown.

No real plans Friday night, maybe a later dinner at John%26#39;s and we hope to hit TOTR at some point (maybe Sat evening instead) depending on how tired we are and the weather.

Saturday - Central Park day - probably the zoo, lots of walking, lunch outside near the boat-house, maybe a bicycle rental or horse-carriage ride. Possibly a swing through Tiffany%26#39;s, FAO and a ice-cream at Serendipity. I%26#39;ve also been to a decent Japanese place that we might hit for lunch or dinner.

Sunday - boys have Yankees game at 1:05 and want to go early for batting practice, DD and I have Wicked at 2. We%26#39;ll all meet up at the hotel for dinner (might do Bella Vita or John%26#39;s) and walking around TS again.

Sunday - hoping for brunch at Film Center Cafe, boys head back to the Yankee Stadium for the tour while DD and I head down to TJ Maxx/Filene%26#39;s, Macy%26#39;s, etc.

Monday - flight isn%26#39;t until 3:55 so we%26#39;ll do some additional wandering about, shopping, etc before heading to airport.

I think this is enough to give the kids a taste of NYC (TS, Chinatown, WTC, SOL, CP, etc.). We might try to fit in some Fleet Week activities (tour) depending on how we hold up.

This is totally unscheduled by my definitions, but I know my kids and over-scheduling leads to tired, stressed out everyone.

Quick Itinerary Review

Looks good to me. You might want to consider renting a boat on the lake in Central Park - in addition to, or instead of, your bike rental/carriage ride. Think the kids would enjoy it:

Quick Itinerary Review

Sorry about the Statue Cruises thing. I think I%26#39;ll be apologizing for that one for a while. ;( You might want to consider doing TOTR during daylight since you can%26#39;t see Central Park at night (it%26#39;s not lit).

Very long waits at Serendipity and not all that great. If you leave your name, you could walk over to the Roosevelt Island tram and take a roundtrip ride for views. Costs the same as a subway or bus ride.

Myabe consider discount tickets to an off Broadway show Fri. night? Stomp? Altar Boyz? Sounds like a great trip. Hope you have a blast.

If the row boats are available, that is fun to do in Central Park. I think that is cheaper than a carriage ride and still a lovely park activity.

The last time I did a Fleet Week visit to a ship the lines were very long. Best to get there early, wear sunscreen, bring water, hats etc...

That looks like a great, non-intimidating itinerary!! Have fun :)
