It was fantastic

Arrived back yesterday from 5 day stay in NYC. Stayed at the Grand Hyatt, great hotel wonderful location, the regency club room was well worth while for the breakfast,afternoon snacks(only once as we were out most of the time) and apparently they do desserts as well but we were out! Hardly slept but walked and walked. The burlesque show at Corio with Murray Hill was fantastic, and I was a little nervous about suprising my travel companions with the tickets as one of them was my friends mum aged 68, but we all enjoyed it, and plan to see it again when it comes back to London. Ate at Rockefeller centre, Hard Rock Times Sq,and Daniels Steak House 41st St. all great food, and one brunch at Pershing Sq Diner also v. good.

So impressed with how helpful everyone was and how friendly, particularly in the stores.

So easy to find your way everywhere and the subway was great. When we arrived I felt I had %26#39;come home%26#39;.

Looking forward to next time. Thanks to all of you who answered my questions before I went.

It seems that a lot of people are surprised and impressed with how FRIENDLY New Yorkers are ..... thus dispelling many ugly rumors. Here ..... take a look at this wildly popular thread that Greenwhiteblue started titled ..... ';Was New York what you expected, or was it different?'; Because after over 100 responses I did some mathematical computations (take a look at the math ..... if I didn%26#39;t know better then I%26#39;d say it really does sound very scientific) of all the various responses and the word ';Friendly'; appeared 54% of the time.

Absolutely. The NEW YORK subway is the 8th wonder of the world: efficient, fast, safe, affordable.

One of my mistakes when I planned my trip to NEW YORK was to have underestimated the subway system. Because the subway in my home town (Lisbon, Portugal) is terrible, I thought that all subway systems were similar and had the same problems. So, I wasn%26#39;t ambitious enough, I could have planned things better and seen much more.

Anyway, I%26#39;m glad you had a fun trip. It%26#39;s almost impossible not to have a great time in NEW YORK.
