Directions To Central Park Boathouse

Good afternoon all

We are planning on visiting the Boathouse and we need to know the best way of getting there from 5th Ave (Plaza Hotel - this is where we are being dropped off after the S*x and the City Tour) - r we best to jump in a cab or walk.

Any help appreciated.

The Boathouse is on about 75th street, and the Plaza hotel is on 5th and 59th. If everybody in your party feels comfortable walking a bit over 15 blocks (roughly 3/4 mile) then I%26#39;d say that walking would be fine. You can choose to walk either in the park the whole way or walk up 5th avenue and enter the park closer to 75th street. If you decided on taking a cab, you%26#39;d cab to around 75th and then walk from there to the boathouse.

I%26#39;d probably recommend just walking - on a summer day the park is gorgeous, and the walk will only take you about 20 minutes anyway.

I just spent most of the day in the Park and had lunch at the Boat House. I was very surprised how inexpensive the food is (we sat outside, not the formal dining room).

From the Plaza Hotel you walk into the park just north and west of 60th and 5th, you%26#39;ll be walking north northwest toward the main bike path (this is open to auto traffic during the week). You%26#39;ll reach the main bike / skating / jogging path at the equivalent of 65th and you%26#39;ll then you%26#39;ll follow the main path up to approx 74th / 75th where you%26#39;ll find the Boat House on your left. It is really very nice.
