Hi,
I%26#39;m planning a trip for my 8 year old and trying to decide which section to buy tickets for. I went on Ticketmaster and other than the Orchestra and front Mezzanine (both going for $120), the next best available seats are in Mezzanine row LL ($80).
Do you know if these are decent seats? I really want her to have a good view for her first Broadway play. Possible without spending $260? Thanks.
Mary Poppins: Anyone familiar with New Amsterdam Theater?
You don%26#39;t say when you will be in NYC, but if you go to broadwaybox.com you can get a discount code for tickets to Mary Poppins. The code is good for shows through July 6th. When my kids were 8-10, we always tried for the first row in the Mezzanine. It pretty much guarantees an unobstructed view. My daughter at 14 still enjoys these seats best. I think with the discount code the tickets would be $75 instead of $120
I don%26#39;t think I would get tickets in the rear of the Mezzanine, you will be pretty far back, and I think it would be hard for your daughter to see. If you are coming after July 6th you may want to wait and see if the discount gets extended. I know that broadwaybox.com has extended the discount codes on a number of shows. On the broadwaybox website you can pull up the theater seating chart and put in the seats you are considering. Good luck!

Sorry. submitted post twice. I gave you the wrong date the discount code is only good for show through June 21 and then July 1-6.
Thank you so much for the website! I was planning on visiting on 8/30. The bus company is also running trips for late June and July 19, which is after the ticket promotion. I%26#39;ll keep my fingers crossed and hope they run another promotion in August. Thanks again!
I was just there on Saturday with my 9 y.o. and we had seats in the middle of the Mezzanine (dead center) and we could see just fine. My daughter and I both loved the show. Enjoy!
I have two tickets to Mary Poppins on June 13 at 8 p.m. Orchestra Row D, seats 104 and 105 if anyone is interested. I have trip insurance, but if someone would like to buy them, I will sell them for cost (two tickets I bought at a discount = $170). I had to cancel that trip with my mother because we found out a few weeks ago she has leukemia (very advanced) and a trip is out of the question.
I did see it on May 8 and the New Amsterdam Theater is so beautiful. I understand Disney refurbished it and it is wonderful. The show was my favorite out of seven shows we saw!
I always think that for a first broadway show you should get center orchestra seats.
Your daughter will love the show.
Try discount code MOUSE in ticketmaster or the other official ticket site.
