iam planning taking dollars to new york in nov,but if i run out of cash, can i use a visa card of any kind? or only certain ones?
moneyI have a Nationwide FlexAccount and use that and their credit card when abroad. It%26#39;s one of the very few cards that lets you access your money without charging a fee ( although the machine provider may charge a small amount--I use HSBC branches and have never been charged). I now travel only with a minimal amount of cash to get into Manhattan and then use ATM%26#39;s as though I were travelling in the UK. Obviously if you withdraw cash using your credit card you will be charged. You can also use the FlexAccount as a debit card in stores etc the same as you would do at home.
Advert for Nationwide now over..:-)
moneyVISA, Master Card widely accepted.................American Express at many places, not all!
ATM cards are also commonly used here by tourists and locals alike, no worries.
Poppa
No worries - except to pay the bill when you get home
