Train from New York to Boston

We are a family of 6 and are travelling from New York to Boston in mid-July by train.

Should we purchase the train tickets before we go to US or wait until we are in New York.

Also, which train is recommended?

Thanks for your help

Train from New York to Boston

There is only one passenger train company in the US--Amtrak, the national rail service. There are two types of trains you can take: regional service or Acela, which is the high speed line. (But not actually that high speed; it%26#39;s about 30 minutes faster NYC-Boston.) The Acela is more comfortable, but considerably more expensive.

Unless you don%26#39;t know when you%26#39;re going to take the trip, I don%26#39;t see anything to be gained by waiting to buy your tickets.
