3 generations in NYC

After some weeks of dicussions it is finally official I am coming back to the ';Big Apple';, ';The town that never sleeps';...eh...New York City. And this I am coming with my son and my mother. My mom really wanted to go after all our praise of the city but didnt want to go alone so she is paying for our trip and lodging, who can say NO to that proposition...not me. So I guess this is going to be a sort of Greatest hits tour - show them the best of my two trips before and hopefully get some new songs in there.

We land at the 27th of August and stay for 5 nights at the Hilton Garden Inn which I actually booked last autumn when someone here posted that they had some great deals for the summer, so I booked just in case we found some cheap flight. We pay $189/night +tax +$30/night for a rollaway bed.

So I guess its time to crank up the research and the TA visits a notch...more of everything. And it would be fun to meet some of you lovley people so make a note in your calender.:))

This has been two weeks of absolutely horrendous surprises for me. First Parvati wins the million dollars (million dollars Matte) on the season finale of %26#39;Survivor%26#39; over Amanda ..... AMANDA I%26#39;m telling you Matte ..... she was the hot chick running around half nude in a string bikini. What the heck was that panel of castaways thinking? Then just last night David Cook wins the season finale of %26#39;American Idol%26#39; beating out David Archuleta ..... ARCHULETA Matte ..... the kid was only like 12 years old and was so cute he looked like an little elf. What was Paula, Simon and Dawg thinking?

And now this whole %26#39;Matte Free Trip%26#39; surprise hits me. I don%26#39;t know if I can take much more of these surprises ..... I%26#39;ve got a bad ticker you know. And ..... dear sweet innocent Swedish speaking Matte ;

The good news is the Amazing Race being shot now goes to Angkor! And, maybe our special place - Luang Prabang.

Kate - My son is seven so I think he will have a hard time to understand whats happening so I think we will pass on it this time but I am going to do it some time.

Evening - yes Johanna is going to stay at home with the other kids, we were thinking about taking all the kids and mother but it would have cost us and mom too much money, I am a mailman after all. :-)) And in all fairness she has been to Dubai a few times without me so...but yes she wants to come as well...but it will not be the last visit.

The flight prices have gone throught the roof; we paid around $700 per person the first time with SAS, $500 the second time with Continental and now its $900 with SAS.

Oh and its the new Chelsea location we are staying at.

I%26#39;m proud to say I have NEVER watched American Idol, except when it was on at TARcon - the party where we geeks who love Amazing Race get together and watch the season finale

(I admit - this is really geeky, but only did it twice because I like to watch Amazing Race in silence! Strangely, my really hot across the hall neighbor was there too - so not so geeky after all)

Evening ..... [sorry to hijack your thread here Matte] ..... Amanda was a two time loser. Can you believe it? What was everyone thinking? Amanda even made it the finals twice ..... and lost to the skinny kniver Parvati. Well %26#39;pouty sex kitten%26#39; certainly working for me. But strangely she also only placed 8th on the Miss Earth competition ...... only 8th ..... jeez ..... what were those judges thinking? They not only should have given her all the prize money she deserves ..... they also should have built a giant ';Earth temple'; in her honor.
