We are travelling to New York in August and would ideally like to stay in the Greenwich Village area. Can anyone recommend a good hotel?
Can anyone recommend a good hotel in greenwich village?Ian, if you%26#39;re willing to stay in a B%26amp;B rather than a hotel, I can recommend West Eleventh Townhouse - www.west-eleventh.com. Great location, more like having an apartment.
Can anyone recommend a good hotel in greenwich village? There is really only one hotel there
wshotel.com
which is a small European type hotel. The
larchmonthotel.com
has all shared bathrooms.
The W Union Square is on the edge of the village, quite trendy and expensive.
In addition to West-Eleventh, there are some other ';b %26amp; b%26#39;s'; including
abingdonguesthouse.com
gvhabitue.com
greenwichvillagehome.com
when you say that there is only one hotel and that is the washington square hotel, do you mean that there is only one hotel in the area or that there is only one hotel worth visiting? i have been looking as washington square as the price fits our budget but havent heard much about it on this site apart from the hotel reviews.
It%26#39;s the only regular hotel with private bathrooms in the village. The others are either b %26amp; b%26#39;s like the ones I mentioned or the Larchmont with mostly shared bathrooms. The only other ';proper'; hotel is the W Union Square which sits on the edge of the village and Chelsea. There are a number of hotels in Chelsea, just north of the village (Four Points Sheration Chelsea, Hampton Inn Chelsea etc.) The Washington Square is in a great location and is more like a European hotel.
