Hi is that right that you can get a discount if you spend, over $100 at Bloomingdales and Macys?

We are travellingg to tomorrow can%26#39;t wait and we are staying at the Hotel Metro....

Any local bars that you can recommend for a beer?

Yeah you can get discount, Go to the vistior center with your passport to get your discount card and free gift, we got a Macys linen bag and a bloomingdales keyfob!

we just got back from ny and also stayed in the hotel metro!! Take photo copies of your passport with you if possible and you will get 11% off at macy%26#39;s at the visitors centre (i think that this is the american tax) i personally didnt think macy%26#39;s was all that good a little bit like dingles/house of fraser on a larger scale! lord and taylor was much better and you get the same deal here if you give them your photo id too. On the map lord and taylor is 424 5th avenue e 38 st although i beg to differ! if you work your way from the entrance of the esb up 5th ave it is on the same side! I dont know what kind of shopping you are into but next to macy%26#39;s is also the manhattan mall which we found quite good for cheaper clothing and bargains. We thought the hotel metro was excellent for our location as esb is only a block away! the subway is at the end of the road and herald square/ macy%26#39;s is on the door step but our room was tiny!! the first 2 nights that we were there we were so tired that we got sandwhiches from a 24/7 deli at herald square, and took it back to our room. so that was nice and cheap ha ha we did go to brendans across the road from the hotel and that was really good and the steaks were amazing!! my boyfriend had the 16oz and i had the blackened beef rib and both were really nice and not too expensive in there either, they also had a large bar area which looked quite good!

there are also 2 irish bars up from the hotel although we never went in there. We went to texas bbq in times square one day and that was quite good too and the burgers were really nice and massive! We went to the river cafe on our last night and that was amazing!!! very posh but the best food ever and they do a fixed menu of $98 each including gratuity, well worth it! We also had pizza at sbarro in canal street and that was good. there is also one nr esb
