Looking to stay in New York in August for 4 nights. Can anybody recomend a good hotel for 2 people around times square at around 拢600 for the room. Have been told Millenium Broadway is good but not well reviewed on trip advisor. Same with the New Yorker. Would appreciate any feedback. ljcraigboy
Hotel around times square
You can try the Hilton Garden Inn Times Square. If you book online you can get a room for 250/night. The only catch is that you have to pay the whole balance upfront when you book. That was probably the best deal for a hotel that I could find around Times Square. It has gotten very good reviews around here, too.
Hotel around times square
I%26#39;ll copy and paste and my answer I just left for another poster.
We just returned from NY and we stayed in the Belvedere Hotel. Great location. We have been several times before and I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel. The room size of a king room is great. I would go on their website as they do have specials. The hotel is in the theatre district at 48 %26amp; 8 and only minutes away from Times Square and all other major attractions. Subway is also very close.
Its worth the look.
stayed in St. james hotel, its just off times square, good basic hotel and not a bad price
The Millenium Broadway is fine. The New Yorker is not and it%26#39;s not in Times Square. In addition to the places mentioned, the Residence Inn is probably in budget.
Depending on which 4 nights in August, I%26#39;d guess there%26#39;d be quite a few hotels that would fit the description. If you were to bid on Priceline for a 4* hotel in Times Square, you could likely win one for ~$200/night or less. If you don%26#39;t know about Priceline, read up on betterbidding.com and biddingfortravel.com
what about the westin? great location and fab hotel, it%26#39;s about 拢150 a night so it will be right on target for your budget
Do you really need to be in Times SQ? I%26#39;ve heard it is really noisey in that area day and night. There are many great places to stay and it%26#39;s very easy to take a bus or walk a little ways even in the evening when it%26#39;s dark. I just went to see a play last nite on 45th street and took the bus back to 66th after midnight. There were a ton of people out and even the actors from Broadway were on the bus. Just a thought.
I would try the Hampton Inn Times Square (www.hamptoninn.com) on 8th Ave. or the Wellington Hotel on 7th Ave. I%26#39;ve stayed in them both but, I prefer the Hampton Inn (it includes breakfast). They are both reasonable.
Hey, Jasperpoodle, funny to see you here!
Craigboy, we just came back from NYC; we stayed at Hotel Metro, a queen room there is going to be roughly 165GPB/night. 36th and 6th, fantastic location, subway half block away. Staying on Times Square is like staying across from the Spire in Dublin; there%26#39;s tons of nicer areas within a 10 minute walk, you don%26#39;t need to be dead smack in the middle.
NYC is a real walking town; short blocks, you can be most places in 10-20 minutes, and see way more that way. Hotel Metro was between 5th and 6th, just a whole boatload of things to see even just walking a few blocks around the hotel! Maybe 15 minutes of walk time to Times Square.
Take the reviews for the Millenium Broadway with grain of salt. It%26#39;s wonderful. Get a superior room on a high floor and you%26#39;ll see for yourself. Try travelzoo.com for a deal.
The room we had was in a corner on the 50th floor. Very spacious, clean, flat screen tv, wonderful staff and unbelievable views, with floor to ceiling windows. We are going back next month for the third time. Love it!
Why do you want to stay in Times Square? Unless you are planning on going to the theater every night, there is no reason to be in Times Square -- I mean, it isn%26#39;t as if it were close to anything else you would want to see, other than Times Square itself!!
I think a lot of tourists have the idea that ';Times Square is central to everything, and close to all the %26#39;attractions%26#39;';.
It isn%26#39;t.
