Oh by the way there are 2 couples going so I would consider an apartment or suite in hotel for up to 600 a night

Any help appreciated

Hotel for $300 a night

Our past few visits to Manhattan we have stayed at the Hotel Stanford on 32nd Street %26amp; B%26#39;way. They have rooms starting in the mid $200%26#39;s with a variety of configurations.

This is a basic, tourist hotel, rooms are small, clean and for our purposes the hotel is very well located just off Herald Square.

There is a subway entrance right on the corner and taxis are very abundant in the area.

Based on the variety of foreign languages I hear in the lobby, elevator, this is a very popular place for foreign visitors.

Jolly Madison is $271 plus tax (~15%) on quikbook.com Just had friends from the UK who stayed there. They were satisfied. Biggest downside is many rooms have pretty dreary view and some are small, but it%26#39;s conveniently located. This rate doesn%26#39;t require prepayment and it%26#39;s fully cancelable. If you%26#39;re not sure right now, I%26#39;d certainly go ahead and book this. You can always cancel or change.

Apartments are problematic here. The only way you would find a hotel suite at that price at that time would be to share a 1 bedroom which would mean either 1 couple would have to sleep on a sofabed in the living room (not very comfortable) or get a 1 bedroom suite with 2 double or queen beds in the bedroom, but then you%26#39;d have no privacy and would have to share a bathroom.

I estimate the Jolly Madison will cost a total of $3726 for both couples including tax. The Affinia Dumont, a quite nice suite hotel (so you%26#39;d have a kitchen and separate sitting room) would cost $3596 for a 1 bedroom suite with 2 queen beds in the bedroom (and probably a sofabed in the living room). This rate requires prepayment and is not cancelable. Several of the other affinia.com hotels would also work within your budget but I think this is the best option in terms of size of beds, location and price.

I also noticed Orbitz.com has the Excelsior hotel for $306/night plus tax. This is on the upper west side, an area that many people enjoy since it%26#39;s less hectic. The hotel is opposite the Museum of Natural History and a short walk to Central Park.

An addendum - the Hotel Stanford requires a credit card to reserve - it is not charged - plus the room is fully cancelable 24 hours before your arrival date...very convenient.

Thanks I will have a look at these, the one bedroom suite is out of the question really require 2 rooms or 1 suite with 2 bedrooms really.

I will take a look at your suggestions.

If there are any more keep them coming cant get too many options,

Also what do people think of the Milford Plaza, its getting 1* and 4* reviews, very confusing.

Good location but a dump. Locals call it Mildew Plaza.

Mildew plaza? funny!

Remember those old Milford Plaza commercials that used to call it ';The Lullaby of Broadway';? No more...lol....

The Hilton Garden Inn Times Square has rooms for 250/night if you book online. The only catch is you have to pay the full price upfront.

We just returned from NY and we stayed in the Belvedere Hotel. Great location. We have been several times before and I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel. The room size of a king room is great. I would go on their website as they do have specials. The hotel is in the theatre district at 48 %26amp; 8 and only minutes away from Times Square and all other major attractions. Subway is also very close.

Its worth the look.
