JFK to Chelsea (group of 12)

A group of 12 ladies will need transportation from JFK to Comfort Inn Chelsea. Economical suggestions please?

JFK to Chelsea (group of 12)

For starters, here is information about getting to Manhattan from all three airports:

Do you all want to travel together, as in a van or super stretch limousine? Or would you be willing to walk a bit? The most economical method would be to take the AirTrain to the subway, and then to Manhattan. Total cost: $7 per person, or $84. For info: http://www.panynj.gov/airtrain/

If you want to take a cab, you would need three of them. There is a fixed fare of $45, plus any tolls and gratuity, the total usually comes to $60. That would come to $180 for the group, but would take you from the airport to the door of your hotel. I would recommend the taxi option.

If you really want to splurge, you could hire one of those huge limos, like a stretch Hummer or something like that. I have no idea what that would cost, although I am confident it would be more than $180!

Here is some more ground transport info as concerns JFK:

If you do opt for the taxi option, be sure to follow the signs to the official taxi stand, and only accept a ride from the dispatcher there. DO NOT accept a ride from anyone who may approach and offer you a ride to Manhattan. They are operating illegally, and are to be avoided.

Allstate is a reputable car service. A couple times I%26#39;ve called for a sedan to take me to the airport and they%26#39;ve had a 15 passenger van heading to the airport so that is what they used. It was just me in a 15 passenger van.

I suspect that it will be more economical to transport twelve ladies in a van than in three taxi%26#39;s. Plus, they%26#39;ll help with your luggage and they%26#39;ll know exactly where they are going. You%26#39;ll all be together as you sit in traffic on the Van Wyck, and you won%26#39;t be cramped into a taxi with a crazy driver.

I%26#39;m not a big fan of taxi%26#39;s, if you can get a nice van with a reputable company I%26#39;d do that.

Check with Empire, Allstate, Carmel, Dial 7, and I%26#39;ll think of a couple others. There is one of them that transports all the airline crews, they must be okay. The airlines wouldn%26#39;t be using them if they weren%26#39;t reliable.

Carmel is 212 666 6666, Dial 7 is 212 777 7777, and Allstate is 212 333 3333. I%26#39;m pretty sure that if you dial the 212 area code and then the same digit seven times, any one digit seven times, you%26#39;ll get a different car service. Not kidding...
