Outlets in Manhattan?

Are there any outlet malls in Manhattan? Which ones would you recommend? If there are none in Manhattan, which ones are closest or easy to get to? I will be going to New York mid July and will be staying in Manhattan.

I was interested in this myself recently and did a bit of searching on this forum. There is lots of info about local outlet malls in the the FAQ at

Hope this helps - after doing all the research I%26#39;ve decided to stick to stores in the city.

Outlets in Manhattan?

There is only one mall in Manhattan at all, and it%26#39;s rather sad and run down. Manhattan shopping isn%26#39;t mall shopping.

Century 21 and Daffy%26#39;s, however, both have many of the aspects you%26#39;d associate with an %26#39;outlet%26#39; - namely, designer goods at heavily discounted prices. Before I go rambling off on a bus dozens of miles out of the city, I%26#39;d check those out.

I would also add TJ Maxx, Filene%26#39;s and Burlington Coat Factory to that list. There are lots of bargains to be had.
