The ';B'; subway line...I%26#39;m confused by what happens to it in the Rockefeller Center area.
If I want to go, say, from Roosevelt Island to the Museum of Natural History, can I just stay on the B if I get on at Roosevelt Island in the direction of The Bronx? I know I would not want the B towards Brooklyn because that would turn south. So I would just have to watch for the correct direction, both B trains stopping at the same platform?
Subway question
The ';B'; line doesn%26#39;t go anywhere near Roosevelt Island.

Are you sure you are looking at the correct subway line?
Subway question
The B train operates on weekdays only. The B train does not serve Roosevelt Island.
If you are going from Roosevelt Island to the Museum of Natural History you%26#39;ll want to take a Manhattan / Brooklyn bound F train to Rockefeller Center and change for an uptown B train. You%26#39;ll need to go upstairs and cross over (no additional swipe of a MetroCard necessary). Three stops on the F from Roosevelt Island to Rockefeller Center and then four stops on the B train to 81st Street, Museum of Natural History.
You%26#39;re right - I was looking at a very old map (1990). Found a newer one - the F is at RI. Clears things up.
Throwing old map in trash even as we speak.
Warmwinds, try this map:
