Business work at 1 Wall Street - suggestions for hotels

Hello everyone,

I am coming to New York city for the first time and don%26#39;t know much about hotels. This is my business trip and I have most of my work at 1, Wall Street. I am travelling around third week of June.

Please suggest me a good hotel to stay which is nearby 1 Wall Street - (walkable?)

I am looking for hotel with a budget of around $300.

Thank you very much.

Gild Hall is a hotel that has opened recently and not far from where you need to be.

Another hotel within walking distance is the Millenium Hilton. (I stayed there 3 years ago, and it was lovely). Ask for a high floor facing north or east and you will get an oustanding view!!

There is a lot of construction around this hotel right now (due to rebuilding subway stations and WTC site across the street), but that should not affect your travels or access in any way. It is very convenient to subways, shopping, eating, etc.

I%26#39;d check to see if there are specials or discounts.

You can use www.hopstop.com to measure distances.

The other properties in the area that are slightly farther away (but still walkable) are the Marriot, the Embassy Suites (both possibly within your budget if there are specials or discounts) and the Ritz-Carlton (probably never in your budget!)

There are a number of hotel discount websites to explore like:

quickbook.com

kayak.com

travelzoo.com

lastminute.com

...just to name a few.

You%26#39;ve already gotten great advice, but for futures, if you map your business meeting location on

maps.google.com

and then use their ';search nearby'; feature for hotels, you can see what%26#39;s nearby. By doing that I find the Club Quarters downtown is actually the closest option.

If you do want to stay in that area, I%26#39;d say the Embassy Suites (includes full breakfast and is all 1 bedroom suites), the Gild Hall and the Marriott Financial are probably the nicest options likely to fit your budget.

But you should also consider that the Wall st. area can be very quiet at night. If you want to be in an area that%26#39;s still relatively close but has a bit more activity when you%26#39;re not working, you might consider Tribeca (the Tribeca Grand might fit your budget) or Soho. There%26#39;s a new Hampton Inn Soho due to open in mid July. The Soho Grand is sometimes around $300/night.

Hello guys,

Thank you very much for valuable advices. I am currently looking at the hotels suggested by you one by one. I would come back again if I need further help.

Hope I will find something really good for my stay in Newyork.

thank you very much.

For a long stay I like the Manhattan Club on 56th and 7th in Midtown because it has a small kitchen with a refrigerator and microwave along with a great private club on its top floor!

Hello guys,

I have just got to know that my work place would be 101 Barclay stteet and not 1 Wall Street. (1.7 km away from the wall street). I can also stay at around $ 400 per night. Which option should I consideer if I want to have great view of Americas.

Thanks again

I don%26#39;t know which of the nearby hotels would fall in your budget in rooms with views, but your options are:

The Embassy Suites hotel is nearby and includes full cooked breakfast and all 1 bedroom suites. Some of the rooms on the higher floors will have views.

I think you%26#39;re practically on top of the Marriott Financial Center hotel which is very nice.

The Millenium Hilton is close but that looks over the construction of the former WTC site. Perhaps Queensboulevard or someone else who works down there will be able to say what the area is like right now.

The brand new Duane St. hotel (at 130 Duane st. owned by Robert DeNiro) is very close too and that has some nice views.

That%26#39;s the Bank of New York buidling (affectionately known as ';BONY';!)

I reco Embassy Suites or the Milennium mentioned above. The BONY building is inbetween those two hotels.

Next closest are Marriot and the Tribeca Grand or Duane Street hotel.

There is still construction all around, but don%26#39;t let that deter you.
