July 4th Fireworks Viewing

Hi everyone,

I%26#39;ve been reading the previous posts on 4th July fireworks and I%26#39;m a bit confused. Can you advise if a cruise is the best way to see the Macy%26#39;s fireworks? Or are the street locations just as good. If we go to a street location, will it be really crowded and impede our enjoyment of the displays?

Any advise would be aprpeciated.

Thanks.

I%26#39;ve actually never been on a cruise on that night mostly b/c they require you be on there for quite a long time and once on, you can%26#39;t get off. The fireworks usually start at 9 pm (sometimes later if it%26#39;s cloudy) and most of the cruises expect you on board at 6 or 7. If you do a dinner cruise on something like

I%26#39;d imagine that would be quite nice. It is very crowded on the streets, but that%26#39;s part of the fun I think. The best idea is if you have a friend with an apt. that faces the river or a roof with a view (or a hotel room!) with a view of the river. One year I had a friend at the Millenium UN Plaza and we had a great time. ;)

Thanks! I assume it%26#39;s the East river you need to face? We%26#39;re staying in the Times Sq Courtyard Marriott, so I%26#39;m not sure the hotel will offer a great view. I think we%26#39;ll join the crowds :)
