hi everyone, some if you may remember me posting here last year as newyorkcityvirgin. i decided that name is not appropriate any more after our amazing vist in december and i am back looking for help planning my next visit in dec 09.
i know this is AGES away but im also aware of the merits of forward planning in getting the best choice of rates and hotels.
we will be spending christmas 09 in orlando and hubby has told me if the price is right we may be able to squeeze in a 2 night visit to NY en route.
rough plan would be as follows (gearing everything towards our 8 year old daughter as it will be her first visit)
arrive friday evening - dinner in the view bar, rockettes radio city music spectacular
saturday - TOTR, 5th avenue, FAO Schwarz, central park including ice skating and zoo, dinner in the burger joint le parker meridien, ny waterway harbour lights cruise that evening (to see lady liberty)
sunday - AMNH in the morning and fly to orlando that evening
last time we stayed in radio city apartments but didnt have great experience. however the location was absolutely fantastic.
can anyone recommend somewhere for us to stay? would it be very unrealistic to think we could do 2 nights for $500? clean and basic suits is all we ask for but as we are confining our sight seeing this time to one fairly compact area we plan to walk everywhere and would hope to get something close to RCA.
if we get somewhere reasonable we may even stretch to a third night to accomodate a broadway show and ellis island
thanks for your help!
way ahead of myself, need suggestions (hotel)
You have posted by accident on the NY forum rather than the NY CITY forum here

I would say it%26#39;s unlikely you%26#39;ll find a hotel for $500 for 2 nights for 3 of you, BUT, it really depends on the exact dates. The later in Dec., the more likely you%26#39;ll have success. Check out the Salisbury hotel.
way ahead of myself, need suggestions (hotel)oops thanks! i%26#39;ll repost on the ny city forum. it wud be fri 18th and sat 19th dec
The Beekman Tower hotel has a 1 bedrom suite (your daughter would sleep on a sofabed in the living room) for $219/night plus tax on quikbook.com
It%26#39;s not as central as the RCA but nicer.
