Does anyone recommend any of the long term parking areas that shuttle you over to the terminal with good rates or coupons? Have seen Avistar and Airport Parking 1, but unsure about the service and reputation. Any ideas appreciated.

JFK long term parking
I have used Avistar about 10 times and have only had a couple of minor problems. Once, for some reason, the line was so long to get my car into their lot that I turned around and used the JFK long term lot for the very first time. Another time we waited a really long time after we arrived to be picked up (about 40 minutes). Don%26#39;t leave any valuables your car (stupid to say but I forgot my cell phone once and it was gone).
Even with these problems I would use Avistar again. The long term lot that JFK has is a little further away and you have to use the Airtrain (no charge) to get to the terminal. If you are traveling with someone else it is not bad as you can drop someone off with your bags at the airtrain terminal in the parking lot area, park your car, and then either luck out and find a shuttle bus to the terminal or hike. You would not want to have to hike to your car with your luggage.
We just returned from vacation - flying out of JFK. We traveled with 3 other families and consequently parked 4 vehicles in the JFK Avistar (Fasttrack) lot. Our experience wasn%26#39;t very good. 3 out of our 4 vehicles had items stolen. One truck had a cell phone, another a portable GPS system and my truck was the 3rd. Normally, I wouldn%26#39;t leave anything important in the car but I forgot I had a travel case of DVD%26#39;s for the kids tucked away in the center console. Not only did they take that, but the attendant also had the nerve to empty my change from the slots in the center console as well. This place really is awful. Oh, and it took about 40 minutes to pick us up from the terminal. There has to be a better option - I think we%26#39;ll pay for a car service next time or not fly out of JFK if at all possible.
Wow. That%26#39;s sounds really terrible. I just made reservations with avistar for 3 cars. I guess we should make sure to leave absolutely nothing of value in the car. What did they say when they were confronted about the stolen items? Has anyone used the other parking that I mentioned, the Airport Parking 1. I guess it could be the same scenario whenever you park in these places.
I filed a claim with them and received a letter a week later stating that they accepted no responsibility for any items left in the car. At the very least, they should have sent us a voucher for free parking - some kind gesture would have been appreciated. Definitely won%26#39;t use them again.
